Systems Engineer, SME

Overview

ASEC3 is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to perform in the role of Systems Engineer.

Candidates must already possess a current and active TS/SCI with FSP clearance to be considered for this position

Qualifications

This position will support the Sponsor’s IT Operations organization, which is responsible for Monitoring and Communicating IT Infrastructure Status; Managing IT incidents, IT Service Management, Developing Monitoring Application and Solutions; Providing Help Desk and Application Support Services, Risk Management, and Cyber Security Response. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining a strong awareness of technical trends in information technology, develop and maintain a strong awareness of on-going IT projects, and business unit requirements; be able to apply the project management to efforts within scope.
  • Preparing required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
  • Providing technical direction and advice to government management.
  • Assisting in establishing standards for information systems procedures.
  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications/recommendations.
  • Conferring with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address.
  • Coordinating and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
  • Consulting with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements.
  • Estimating software development costs and schedule.
  • Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improve current
    techniques.
  • Supervise software configuration management.
  • Appling the concept of operations set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design and construction of information systems across a major sector of the organization. Developing analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solutions.
  • Performing strategic systems planning, business information planning, business and analysis.
  • Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
  • Designs, Configures and Maintains the Information Technology Infrastructure associated with the cloud environment.
  • Support formal meetings and boards.

Required:

  • Experience with cyber operations, continuous monitoring strategies, or defense in depth security architecture, knowledge of risk management framework
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with third parties and internal staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently; self-starter
  • Minimum of 10 years’ of relevant experience.
